Zach LaVine

Zach LaVine (MIN) “Star-Child” nike

(Kim Klement/USA TODAY Sports)

MIN Guard: 6’5, 189 lbs; 4th year, UCLA

NBA Role: athletic, shot-creating combo guard • MIN Depth Chart: Star UnderDOG

Zach LaVine, a top 5 athlete & 2x Slam Dunk champ, is a pure scorer who carries Minnesota’s offense some nights; compared to fellow UCLA Bruin Russell Westbrook (OKC) outta college, LaVine shows similar tendencies in terms of shot-making, relentlessly attacking the rim & standout athleticism; on offense, Zach is most effective with his crossover, gather-J, perfected by the likes of T-Mac back in the day; should assume more of an ‘imagineering’ role on offense: has the handle to break down guys, but must visualize how the D will react in order to make the right play; solid finisher – needs to get much stronger to sustain a high level of physicality in the paint; a bit turnover prone; already a dunk legend, LaVine’s future All-Star status is looking very, very good these days; missed the latter half of 2016-17 (torn ACL)

Signature Slam: gliding tomahawk

(*factory setting*) NBA 2K17 Rating: 78
