DAL Point Guard: 6’0, 180 lbs; 2nd year, Indiana

NBA Role: scoring point guard UnderDOG

An agile, offensive-oriented point, Yogi Ferrell appears to have found a role in Dallas; cerebral, knows how to win, what it means to control/set pace for the game: Ferrell adjusts well to different sets, picks up strategy & counters on the fly; comfortable operating outta the PnR – Ferrell led Tom Crean’s Indiana offense, has a similar “PnR, get out in transition” role under Rick Carlisle; emerging float game, not as solid as it needs to be yet – important part of Yogi’s development since he’s small, might not be able to get all the way to the basket every time; much improved shooter from downtown; should study how other exactly 6-feet guards like Tim Frazier (NOP) (probing, patience) & Ish Smith (DET) (methodical bursts of speed, weaving through screens) thrive in the Association – Yogi has a bit of their game + his own high level of basketball knowledge and personality as a PG; joined DAL as a midseason pickup – secured a 2 yr. deal after a couple huge performances*

*like when he scored 32 pts! to defeat POR on Feb. 3rd
