It was quite the shocker when LSU’s Tim Quarterman declared for the 2016 NBA Draft – after impressing POR during the summer, he’s looking to maintain a roster spot and  grow in Rip City; tall guard w/ potential to play the 1 or 2 – Quarterman didn’t play PG (full-time) at LSU but advertised raw shot creating ability in short stretches; good shooter (catch & shoot guy, still developing OTD* game), not as consistent as he needs to be yet; good length, fits the defensive profile Coach Terry Stotts loves** – discipline and understanding how to contribute in small doses is the next step; sporadic minutes is in Quarterman’s (short-term) crystal ball – POR’s backcourt rotation (aside from Dame & CJ) is static, however – can he create some opportunity by going hard in practice?
