CHI Point Guard: 6’1, 186 lbs; 12th year, Kentucky

NBA Role: crafty floor general • Salty DOG

In the right system, Rajon Rondo can beautifully orchestrate an offense in a non-scoring role; incredible vision – Rondo knows where his teammates are going to be (even before they do in some cases), knows how to create looks – if there’s even the tiniest of openings, Rondo’s able to thread the needle, drop a direct dime (excellent at recognizing & exploiting lax coverage); nowhere near a shooter – Rondo takes the correct approach, however: he makes ’em pay by passing over the top (if defenders go under screens) and attempting shots in his zones (elbow in); great rebounder for his size – pushes the break after long boards; one of the most polarizing PGs of the modern era, Rondo’s managed to survive as a traditional floor general in today’s non-traditional game; gets disinterested very easily; up & down tenure in Chicago (finished 2016-17) strong – is he a fit moving forward?
