Mitch McGary

Mitch McGary (OKC) – “Chubbs” | “Snake God” nike

(Mark D. Smith/USA TODAY Sports)

OKC Power Forward/Center: 6’10, 255 lbs; 3rd year, Michigan | Career: 4.4 points/game, 3.5 rebounds/game, 53% FG

An intriguing prospect coming out of Michigan in 2014, Mitch McGary has shown brief visions of his bright future in OKC but needs to avoid making stupid mistakes going forward*; no one wants to see McGary waste his potentially special career in the league – strong, big-bodied lefty who passes better than most young bigs, has good hands and is making improvements with his back to the basket; and oh btw, McGray can lead the break and make some plays in transition; would greatly benefit from mastering a “Brad Miller-fake” – would allow him to leisurely drive down the boulevard; not a rim protector or impressive one-on-one defender at this stage; hasn’t played much due to injury & (now) suspension – McGary needs to use every waking moment if he wants to regain Billy Donovan’s trust

*suspended the first 15 games of 2016-17 – tested positive for marijuana
