Jeff Ayres, out of Arizona State, is a backup four man who normally plays spot minutes at best; inserted to commit fouls, defend down low and rebound his area; not much of a threat to score on offense – Ayres has ok range and can finish feeds but won’t offer many counters or shots when his back is to the rim; changed his name from Jeff Pendergraph to Jeff Ayres in 2013; won a “Mitch Richmond championship” with the Spurs in 2014
