Ersan Ilyasova

Ersan Ilyasova (ATL) – “3rsan” | “Turkish Thunder” ad

(Kim Klement/USA TODAY Sports)

ATL Forward: 6’10, 235 lbs; 10th year, Turkey

NBA Role: versatile, stretch 4

Ersan Ilyasova, a stretch four mostly known for his time in Milwaukee, is one of the more undervalued forwards across the league; avg. around 11 & 6 for his career: Ersan’s hovered near Star UnderDOG status the majority of his NBA career – nowhere near a household name but he’s the hashtagrare floor-spacing big who loves battling in the trenches for boards; tough for a lot of 4s to handle – shifty w/ fakes and step back Js, always a risk to burn you from deep; buyer beware: Ilyasova can fall in love w/ his J a little too much – there’s gonna be some awful shots here and there; nice pick and pop player – performs best when slotted next to post threats* who command a double team; dealt a the deadline (Feb. ’17) again…this time, Ilyasova finds himself in a supporting role for Coach Bud in ATL
