Diamond Stone (LAC) – “(doesn’t need one!)”
Forward/Center: 6’11, 255 lbs; 2nd year, Maryland
NBA Role: (raw) interior scorer • UnderDOG
Diamond Stone has THE best name out of any prospect in 2016…and he’s not half-bad to boot!; in his lone season w/ the Terps, Stone showcased a very nice touch down low, as well as comfortability (& familiarly) stepping out for long jumpers – won’t go as far to call Stone an inside-out big just yet but his strength & speed are right where they need to be at this stage; tough pivot, given his age (19) & lack of experience – Stone will throw you aside to get to his optimal spot down low (plays w/ an edge); good FT shooter (shot 76% as a FR.), a welcome sight for any Clipper big; needs to work on finishing through contact, a turnaround J, hooks & floaters over his right shoulder/after a counter; LAC’s long-term project in the middle?
Signature Shot: TBD.
