DeMar DeRozan is a star scorer who’s always improving – climbed to a career-best 27.3 points/game in 2016-17, started his 1st All-Star game; criticized for taking tough shots – they’re awful for the most part, sure – but DeMar’s gotten more efficient by constantly working in the offseason; features the NBA’s nastiest post moves at the two – off the dribble into fadeaways/spin jumpers* is cold. – mix in floaters, euros, elite athleticism – DeRozan has everything ‘cept a consistent 3; sometimes frustrating as an all-around player; will bash on anyone is at his best when attacking the basket w/ purpose – very good body control and creativity; great shot-maker (loves operating w/ his back to the basket, on the right side) whose playmaking skills have improved the past couple of seasons; falls into ‘imma get mine’ mode too often, needs to move the rock/feed the post/run PnR to keep defenders honest; great chemistry w/ fellow All-Star & backcourt mate, Kyle Lowry – can the pair get over the hump in 2018?
