Earlier this week, LeBron James inked a 3 yr/$100 million deal to re-sign with Cleveland. Rumored to take a shorter deal with the rising salary cap, LeBron ultimately decided to tack on an extra year, giving the Cavs a bargain.

But what’s the significance? Cleveland has its all-world superstar locked up while maintaining some flexibility for future acquisitions.

But that’s boring. The real meaning behind the new contract is LeBron has finally joined an exclusive club: earning $30 million in a single season.

Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James – Ahh, right where he’s belonged since he was a teenager.

James will reportedly make $31 million next season, making him the league’s highest paid player after just BEATING OUT MIKE CONLEY JR.
