END OF AN ERA.

According to an official release on San Antonio’s site, Tim Duncan has decided to hang em up. After a bit of speculation, the “Big Fundamental” is riding off into the sunset with 5 NBA championships and 26,496 career points.

It’s surreal to think about Duncan not being an active member of the Spurs. For the last 19 years, he’s led San Antonio and is widely regarded as the greatest power forward in the history of the game.

19 years of success & absolute dominance for Duncan, Coach Pop and co.

In the scheme of things, San Antonio will be fine but for now, it’s time to reflect on Timmy’s historic career and appreciate him as an all-time great.

No fanfare, no hype, no retirement tour (no offense, Kobe). In the the most “Duncan” way he could have gone out, TD’s monumental impact on the game of basketball will never be forgotten.
